Capture, Trial and Execution


Ned Kelly was captured on the 27th of June, 1880 following his last stand at the hotel. He was sentected to death for the murder of Constibale Lonigan by an Irish born judge named Justice Redmond Barry. On the 11th of November 1880 Ned "Edward" Kelly, Australia's most famous bushranger, was hung. His body was decapitated and buried in an unmarked grave in the Old Melbourne Jail.
